NoWords moves through different corners of electronic, dance, hip-hop and R&B, without settling into any of them.
Across six tracks, synthetic textures, distorted bass,
intricate rhythms and intimate-to-abrasive vocals hold together music that shifts between euphoria, darkness, confidence, vulnerability and excess.
Its title came from realizing that vocals I had recorded as
provisional, half-mumbled ideas were already finished: words could become texture, delivery could carry meaning, and not everything needed to be understood literally.
NoWords grew from that freedom.
