In Arusha, young innovators at Kilimo Sustainable Movement (KSM) are turning organic waste into affordable bio-inputs that help farmers care for their soil and grow stronger crops.
With support from the ILES DE PAIX (Eco Food Project), KSM strengthened its business and nearly doubled production from 450 to 850 liters every two months. By the end of 2025, the team had produced over 11,000 liters, earned TZS 8.7 million in net profit, and reached more than 2,500 smallholder farmers across northern Tanzania.
KSM’s journey shows what youth led agroecology can create green jobs, make use of local resources, and support more resilient farming communities.
Their next goal is to Reach 5,000–10,000 farmers and produce up to 20,000 liters of bio-fertilizer annually by 2030.
