We’re excited to host our first Meet the Artist event at The Shop at Material, featuring Andrea Cárdenas of Joy Clay Works.
Join us for an intimate evening with Andrea to experience her beautiful, soulful ceramic work, hear about her process and inspirations, and learn the stories behind the pieces. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to spend time with the work and take home a piece of your own.

Andrea Cárdenas is a Mexican ceramic artist based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Through sculptural ceramics, her work explores memory, cultural identity, and belonging. With a background in architecture and interior design, she approaches clay as a medium for exploring form, materiality, and personal narrative.
Her practice draws on experiences of migration, motherhood, ancestral knowledge, and connection to place, creating works that bridge intimate stories with shared cultural experiences. Andrea currently works from her studio, Joy Clay Works.
