We had our soft launch with @tizianocruzok at @spore.initiative !
ALLEGORY OF A BROKEN BODY: ANDEAN RITES AND CEREMONIES / ALEGORÍA DE UN CUERPO ROTO: RITOS Y CEREMONIAS ANDINAS
Lecture performance and collective bread-making
In this encounter, Tiziano Cruz, artist from the Quechua and Aymara communities, invited us into the practice of making bread offerings, where art, memory, and Andean cosmology meet. We summoned knowledge rooted in his own childhood and in his community to opens it up as a shared experience, were we reflected on colonization and cultural syncretism, as well as on the reclaiming of Indigenous ways of understanding life, death, territory and community.
The breads offered to our ancestors were delicious!
