Islam Hajjaj, speaking from the Saraya refugee camp in Gaza City, recounts her struggles to support her family after her husband was injured during the genocidal war on Gaza. The injury left him partially paralyzed, unable to work, and bedridden. Despite the responsibility of providing for her children, she turned to work as a domestic worker and in hospitals, striving to secure a livelihood and provide for her family’s basic needs amidst dire living and psychological conditions.
إسلام حجاج، تتحدث من مخيم السرايا في مدينة غزة عن معاناتها في إعالة أسرتها بعد إصابة زوجها خلال حرب الإبادة على غزة، ما أدى إلى إصابته بشلل نصفي أقعده عن العمل وجعله طريح الفراش. ومع تحمّلها مسؤولية توفير احتياجات أطفالها، و اتجهت إلى العمل كمساعدة في المنازل والمستشفيات، سعيًا إلى تأمين لقمة العيش وتوفير الاحتياجات الأساسية لأسرتها، في ظل ظروف معيشية ونفسية صعبة أثقلت كاهلها.
