It’s no coincidence that shoes are in the spotlight right now. In times of economic uncertainty, consumers have to adopt a narrower vision for luxury goods which leads accessories to become anchors for brands. Shoes, specifically, can be proxies for entire collections; Why spend tens of thousands on a handful of RTW pieces when one impossible-to-ignore pair of shoes tells the whole story?  There is a precedent for this: the Great Depression offered a number of anticlimactically glamorous shoe trends, like intricate strap patterns, glossy patents, and embroidery. Soon after, WW2 material constraints led shoemakers like Salvatore Ferragamo toward natural materials like cork which we still see in wedges today. And, austerity measures at the time banned the production of high heels in some countries, which, of course, influenced women to want them even more.  In fact, the ‘High Heel Index’ theorizes that the worse the economy gets, the higher heels become. Take Prada’s controversial SS09 collection with its hazardously high heels that caused several models to fall on the runway. This season, the most attention-grabbing shoes were Saint Laurent’s gilded stilettos, designed by the brand’s Corrado De Biase for Anthony Vaccarello’s gold collection. With metallic snakes for heels, delicate chains substituting for the body of the shoe, and chunky gemstones, you have to wonder if the clothes were there to sell the shoes or vice-versa. Heel height is often shorthand for glamour, but glamour also comes in the form of novelty. To be fair, Chanel has offered novelty shoes for as long as Matthieu Blazy has been at the helm. But SS27 gave a remarkably wide array of heels with standout characteristics: a toe-cap covered in buttons, a chunky satin slingback with gold beading, a sandal with patent playing card suits. And while Sarah Burton’s Givenchy doesn’t often steal headlines, her new zipper heels have attracted attention this week. The shoes seem to mimic the appearance of an unzipped dress—very sexy—while the curved heels gave the impression of defying gravity. Are designer brands placing their 2027 bets on footwear?

4 évvel ezelőtt, ma este : 2022.okt.8. - Dancing with the Stars ✨ első adása @andreimangra -val . Kèszül a könyvem , minden könyörtelen részlettel … fotókkal … és rengeteg embernek fog reményt és hitet adni a legmélyebb pokolban! Ebben biztos vagyok! Szeretlek Titeket! SOHA!
A man has died after suffering serious injuries when he entered into a tiger enclosure at a UK wildlife park, South Yorkshire Police said. A police statement said: "At 1.35pm today (Saturday 10 October) we received reports of a man entering a tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park." "Emergency services attended and sadly, despite the best efforts of medical personnel, the man was pronounced dead at the scene," police said. The tiger was uninjured in the incident, the police said. The police added that the man's family is aware and is being supported by specialist officers. "Our thoughts are with them at this distressing time." The park was evacuated following the incident. The tiger remained in the enclosure following the attack, and there is no wider risk posed to the public, according to authorities. The police spokesperson added that people are being encouraged not to share "distressing" footage circulating online of the man being mauled by the tiger.
