A big congratulations with chili, mustard and onions on top to @theconeydetroit Detroit Homecoming alumni @marcevanjackson, @real_timmeadows, @detroitcreativityproject, and @yourchildrensfoundation of Michigan.
The first-ever Coney event followed this year's Homecoming and raised $2.7M for youth arts in the city. The Coney brought back funny and talented former Detroiters for a comedy show that Marc was inspired to create after attending Homecoming, and then last year, he connected with Andrew Stein at a dinner hosted by @skillmanfoundation during Homecoming. The rest is history!
The Children's Foundation has wasted no time, and already opened up grant applications for city arts organizations to use the funds.
Grants will support:
• Arts Infrastructure
• Arts-Based Experiences
• Teaching Artists
Funding ranges from $5,000–$75,000, based on organization size.
The Homecoming program is all about inspiring action and investment in your hometown. What will your Homecoming inspiration be?
