The Chase by Elle Kennedy

I’m behind on posting reviews, but here’s one for the start of Briar U!

I feel like I miss my off campus boys, but so far this is off to a fun start. I liked getting to know Summer more and getting to see a new side to Fitzy. This book started off really strong for me, I finished it less than two days which feels really fast considering how slow I’ve been reading. Towards the end, I felt like we started to lose the depth between Summer and Fitz and it felt more about the hooking up than relationship building, but I really liked how these two started out.

The writing felt like a stream of consciousness but I really liked Summer so I didn’t mind. I thought she was funny, smart, perceptive and I was genuinely upset for her in the way that people treated her. Fitz sounded like a hot nerd, which we all love, but I do wish we got more from him. I felt Summer’s frustrations by how he wouldn’t open up. We got a bit when he visited Tucker, but that was about it. I wanted more, but I still enjoyed the book!

I loved the cameo from our guys and can’t wait to read about Brenna and our next grump, Jake!
