COAL & CRAYON DESCEND INTO THE DARKNESS WITH “TORN & FRAIL”
Coal & Crayon unveil their new single and video “Torn & Frail”, the darkest and most crushing moment from their upcoming self-titled album, out October 16
With “Torn & Frail” the Rügen-based progressive post-metal band Coal & Crayon enter their most oppressive territory yet. The track draws listeners into a sluggish post-metal spiral, where dissonant guitar walls and dense, haunting soundscapes mirror lyrics confronting inner turmoil with painful honesty.
Yet beneath the weight and darkness lies a turning point. “Torn & Frail” journeys through the deepest night to reveal that enduring the darkness can be the path towards the light, a raw musical testament to vulnerability, pain and resilience.
The accompanying video intensifies the song’s atmosphere, visualizing the emotional descent at the heart of the track.
Following years of evolution across progressive rock, post-metal and atmospheric alternative sounds, Coal & Crayon now prepare to release their self-titled album in October, a new chapter that sees the band sounding more focused, intense and uncompromising than ever.
“Torn & Frail” is out now. Coal & Crayon’s self-titled album arrives on October 16.
