Happy 7 years to @do.what_moves.you ๐Ÿคโœจ Couldnโ€™t help but create a flashback edit of this journey! ๐Ÿฅน . . I grew up learning Bharatanatyam from the age of four and for the longest time, that was the only kind of dance form I knew. Even when I danced to western or folk at work events, I was always told I had a โ€œclassical touch.โ€ My movements were rigid, my energy was low, I lacked flow and honestly I was hesitant and far from confident. Then came October 17th 2019, the day I decided to document my dance journey here on Instagram, not knowing where it would take me. I just knew I wanted to get better. And I kept going. โค๏ธ Through learning from youtube videos, online classes during the pandemic, countless hours of practice, experimenting with different styles, creating my own choreographies, attending dance workshops, pushing my boundaries and showing up even when progress felt slow. Somewhere along the way, I found more than just better movement. I found freedom, expression and a confidence I didnโ€™t have when I started. And this is exactly what @do.what_moves.you has always meant to me. To follow what moves you, keep showing up for it and let it transform you in ways you never imagined. 7 years in. Still learning. Still growing. Still moving. And I am nowhere near done. ๐Ÿฅนโค๏ธ๐Ÿงฟ Iโ€™m thankful to all my teachers and grateful for all my cheerleaders. ๐Ÿซ‚โœจ [ Dance, Journey, Growth, Self-reflection, Training, FYP, Explore, Transformation, Expressing, Before after, Instagram journey, Dance Workshop, Trending, Love for Dance, Consistency, Inspiration, Confidence ] #dance #reels #fyp #explorepage #growth

Our lives have been rocked in the past few months by a cancer diagnosis for my wifeโ€™s twin sister Lisa. She is an incredibly important part of our lives and very close to us so the news of her diagnosis came as a massive shock to Jenn and I. Weโ€™ve been by her side every step of the way, through her surgery to remove her breast and lymph nodes then undergoing some pretty intense chemotherapy, which has taken a large mental and physical toll on Lisa. We decided to keep this story to ourselves at first, dealing with it privately for the past few months. However the time has come where we need the support of our friends and community. To fight the cancer further - Lisaโ€™s oncology team are strongly recommending a new drug called Abemaciclib - which unfortunately is unfunded in New Zealand - and is massively expensive. So itโ€™s time for us to reach out to our friends, family and community for help. Check out the Give A Little link in my bio and please consider donating. Any amount helps. It would mean so much to me, my sister in law and our entire family. Much love โค๏ธ Adam
