“It makes sense in my head. Why can’t I get it out?”

You’re reading your Bible, and something clicks. You get excited. You want to share it.

But when you try to explain it, you start giving all the background. Then you remember another verse. Then you lose track of the point you were trying to make.

You watch their face, wondering if they’re following.

“Am I making sense?”
“I’m taking too long.”
“That’s not what I meant.”
“Maybe I should stop talking.”

What started as excitement turns into frustration, embarrassment, and second guessing. Later, you replay the conversation and finally find the words you wish you’d said.
