As we enter the fourth year of Israel’s genocide in Gaza, many of us are reflecting on the devastation of Israel’s ongoing violence, and on our movement’s efforts to disrupt and dismantle the U.S.-Israel war machine.

In a new essay on Substack, Adalah Justice Project Co-Executive Director Sandra Tamari reflects on the distance imposed between Palestinians in Gaza, across occupied Palestine, and throughout the diaspora, the love that binds us across that distance, and our struggle to close it.

“While trying to process these last three years, I kept coming back to one theme: distance. The painful distance between Palestinians in Gaza, across occupied Palestine, and in the diaspora. A distance that is imposed upon us by force, used as a weapon by our oppressors to isolate us from each other, sow resentment and fragmentation, and strip us of our collective power.”
