PONY UP FOR GAIT WITH AFJROTC VOLUNTEERS ||
From October 1-4, Great Oak High School’s AFJROTC cadets volunteered at Pony Up for
GAIT, an annual fundraising event hosted by Green Acres Interactive Therapy (GAIT) in
Temecula, California. The event raises funds to support adaptive riding and equine therapy
programs, helping individuals of all abilities benefit from the unique connection between humans
and horses.
Our AFJROTC cadets were excited to contribute to this meaningful cause by assisting with
preparations leading up to the main event on October 3. In the days beforehand, cadets worked to
help set up the event space and prepare for the festivities. On October 3, they continued their
efforts by completing final setup tasks amongst other volunteers, arranging decorative pieces,
and adding the finishing touches to further help create a welcoming atmosphere for attendees.
During the main event, cadets had the honor of helping kick off the evening by presenting the
flags. Throughout the event, they assisted with various tasks, including delivering auction items
to attendees and serving deserts to guests. From behind-the-scenes preparations to helping
everything run smoothly during the event, our cadets demonstrated teamwork, dedication, and a
willingness to serve the community wherever they were needed.
Thank you to GAIT for welcoming our cadets and giving them the opportunity to support such a
meaningful cause. We look forward to future opportunities to serve our community and make a
difference!
