Our 11th Annual Pony Up for GAIT Fundraiser was a great success! Thank you to all our sponsors, donors, volunteers and families for your help in making our event such a success! by @gait_program
PONY UP FOR GAIT WITH AFJROTC VOLUNTEERS || From October 1-4, Great Oak High School’s AFJROTC cadets volunteered at Pony Up for GAIT, an annual fundraising event hosted by Green Acres Interactive Therapy (GAIT) in Temecula, California. The event raises funds to support adaptive riding and equine therapy programs, helping individuals of all abilities benefit from the unique connection between humans and horses. Our AFJROTC cadets were excited to contribute to this meaningful cause by assisting with preparations leading up to the main event on October 3. In the days beforehand, cadets worked to help set up the event space and prepare for the festivities. On October 3, they continued their efforts by completing final setup tasks amongst other volunteers, arranging decorative pieces, and adding the finishing touches to further help create a welcoming atmosphere for attendees. During the main event, cadets had the honor of helping kick off the evening by presenting the flags. Throughout the event, they assisted with various tasks, including delivering auction items to attendees and serving deserts to guests. From behind-the-scenes preparations to helping everything run smoothly during the event, our cadets demonstrated teamwork, dedication, and a willingness to serve the community wherever they were needed. Thank you to GAIT for welcoming our cadets and giving them the opportunity to support such a meaningful cause. We look forward to future opportunities to serve our community and make a difference! by @gait_program

🐴🌟VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT 🌟🐴 Volunteers are the backbone of our organization and we want to thank all of our volunteers for their dedication, compassion and support in making a positive impact on GAIT and the lives of those we serve. Now, let's hear from one of our longtime volunteer Sue Howell about her journey here at GAIT. “The following is a story about me becoming a Volunteer at Green Acres Interactive Therapy.  It began when I took my five Granddaughters for a trail ride at Green Acres Ranch.  I loved the environment that I experienced being there.  One of my youngest granddaughters wanted to take riding lessons at the ranch.  That was the beginning of my involvement with finding where I fit in. I was asked by Margaret, the owner, to help feed a calf named Daisy that had been abandoned by her Mom.  I took on that roll for five months, one which I will always remember.  Following that I was asked to help find a new horse for the Interactive Program.  They thought a Fjord would be a good choice.  After a long search across  many states I located a ranch in San Diego that had a Fjord mare named Hviske.  She was in retirement and would work out perfectly as a therapy horse.  That was 5 years ago and is still going strong.  Hviske is one of the favorite horses especially for the small riders.  At Green Acres Interactive Therapy program I tend to gardens, help with a tortoise Mr. T. and of course Hviske.  When something needs to be done I lend a hand.  I am retired and find that this is very rewarding way to spend my retirement.” - Sue Howell We would like to take a moment to thank Sue from the bottom of our hearts for her exceptional commitment and invaluable contributions to the GAIT Program. Thanks for being the secret ingredient in our recipe for success - it wouldn't be possible without dedicated volunteers like you!
