Women experiencing insomnia during perimenopause and menopause often ask me: “Why am I still not sleeping, even on hormone therapy?”

The hot flashes may be better. The night sweats may be gone. But you’re still staring at the ceiling at 3 a.m. and dragging yourself through the next day.

That deserves a closer look.

Hormone therapy can help when hot flashes disrupt sleep, but it doesn’t necessarily resolve every sleep problem. Persistent insomnia and overlooked sleep apnea may need their own evaluation and treatment.

In my latest Substack, I break down what the evidence says about hormone therapy, progesterone, and cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), a treatment with strong evidence that many women have never been offered.

You deserve more than being told that poor sleep is just part of getting older. You deserve someone who asks what’s keeping you awake and takes the answer seriously.

✨Comment SUBSTACK and I’ll send you the full article.
