As we approach three years since October 7, the story of Younes Al Karnawi and Shalev Biton reminds us what humanity can look like even in the darkest moments.

On October 7, Younes, an Arab Muslim, risked his own life to protect Shalev (@shalevb10) and his friends. He brought them into a room where they could hide, and when Hamas terrorists approached, Younes spoke to them in Arabic and convinced them he was alone, putting himself in danger to keep them safe.

Their story is a powerful reminder that Arabs and Israelis, Muslims and Jews, can stand side by side, protect one another, and choose unity, compassion, and humanity.

Thank you, @UJAfedny, for bringing Younes and Shalev to New York to share their story in front of the United Nations and for giving @Jews_of_NY and its allies the opportunity to show them love and support.
