L’Heure Bleue 💙
Just after sunset, when the sun slips below the rooftops, but the night has not yet arrived. The sky deepens into a velvety blue, the city falls quiet, and for a few fleeting minutes, everything feels suspended in time. The French call this moment l’heure bleue, and it inspired Jacques Guerlain to create L’Heure Bleue in 1912.
Over a century later, the house has revisited its icon. Under the direction of Delphine Jelk, Guerlain’s Director of Perfume Creation, L’Heure Bleue returns as a contemporary reinterpretation, an expression of femininity shaped by tenderness and strength, grounded in authenticity, elevated by poetry. An amber floral of quiet power, it opens on an ozonic accord before settling into the velvet of iris and the enveloping warmth of vanilla. At its core lies a bespoke iris tincture, three years in development and crafted by the artisans of Guerlain’s Orphin manufacture, custodians of the house’s savoir-faire for almost two centuries.
To unveil it, we gathered an intimate select of guests in the Kosmo room at
@planetariumcph. Immersed entirely in blue, the space became a passage into the blue hour itself, as a bespoke film unfolded all around the guests, the final light of day dissolved gradually into indigo.
Throughout the evening, artist Mikkel created original cyanotypes, each guest departing with a singular work, a lasting impression of an hour that is, by nature, fleeting.
