Sleep hygiene did the least of anything tested.

In a trial of 150 women, sleep hygiene education produced a clinical remission rate of 4 percent. CBT-I, cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia, produced 54 percent, climbing to nearly 68 percent at six months.

Across four MsFLASH trials and 546 midlife women, CBT-I effects were roughly twice as large as any other intervention tested.

If you have been told to put your phone away and keep the room cool, and it has not worked, that is not a personal failure. It is what the trials found.

The full breakdown is at heybloomly.com under Lifestyle.

Educational information, not medical advice. Persistent insomnia is worth raising with a clinician.
