10 days agoParamedic student here- I love your content however - The main difference between V-Tach with a pulse and V-Tach without a pulse is how we treat the patient. For V-Tach with a pulse, we first need to determine if the patient is stable or unstable. We can use the mnemonic CASH, which stands for Chest Pain, Altered Mental Status, Shortness of Breath, and Hypotension. If the patient shows signs of instability, we perform synchronized cardioversion. However, if the patient is stable, we can administer an antiarrhythmic medication, such as amiodarone or lidocaine, following protocol. On the other hand, V-Tach without a pulse is considered cardiac arrest. We immediately start CPR, defibrillate as soon as possible, and continue following the cardiac arrest algorithm, reassessing the rhythm every 2 minutes.
