Technique is how we move with our instrument to create good sound! It’s important to be relaxed when we play- relaxed movements allow better sound and help players avoid physical injury. Since our studio is fully online, we need a creative approach to help our students build healthy technique from day 1! Today, @susan.c.l explains one approach for complete beginners: pushing down the string of the cello entirely without the thumb. This approach ensures that students have a supported setup, and that their left hand isn’t accidentally “holding up” the cello (this creates tension!)
