One surprise appearance, one legendary reaction, and a facial expression that made an already iconic MTV VMAs moment even more unforgettable.

The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards gave us a pop culture moment that still makes people laugh years later.

When Taylor Swift unexpectedly joined Nicki Minaj on stage during the opening performance, the atmosphere instantly shifted. But for fans watching closely, Kanye West’s reaction became an entirely different kind of entertainment.

And the internet has never quite let it go.

The timing was almost too perfect.

Just six years earlier, Kanye West had famously interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV VMAs, creating one of the most talked-about controversies in music award show history.

Fast forward to 2015, and Taylor was sharing the stage with Nicki Minaj after the two artists had publicly resolved their own disagreement.

The performance featured Nicki’s “The Night Is Still Young” and Taylor’s “Bad Blood,” turning a moment of reconciliation into a memorable live television spectacle.

But what makes this throwback so entertaining is the contrast between the excitement on stage and the reactions happening in the audience.

Sometimes the funniest moments aren’t planned, rehearsed, or even part of the performance.

They’re the unexpected expressions that viewers notice and turn into pop culture history.

With Nicki Minaj’s commanding stage presence, Taylor Swift’s surprise appearance, and Kanye West’s complicated history with the VMAs, this moment had everything needed to become an unforgettable celebrity throwback.

The music was iconic. The timing was incredible. And the reaction was priceless.

Nearly a decade later, the 2015 MTV VMAs remain a must-see reminder of an era when award shows delivered genuinely unpredictable entertainment.

Some performances make headlines. Others become legendary reaction memes.

This one managed to do both.

Save this unforgettable MTV VMAs moment or share it with someone who remembers just how entertaining the 2010s music industry could be.

Pedalboard update! | PART 2

The DOD FX-65 is back to Frusciante’s pedalboard after 34 years!

The legendary chorus pedal was used by John from 1990 to 1992 and it was responsible for the chorus tones on Blood Sugar Sex Magik.

The shared “Boss SD-1” is actually a Boss DS-1, and the Ibanez WH-10 is a Triungulo Lab WH-X V2, which John seems to have liked. The pedal was used in every solo!

Also the Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555 footswitch was beside the pedalboard.
