IC 1396A "Elephant's Trunk Nebula" (resembles a dark figure to me) is a concentration of interstellar gas and dust ionized by a massive star some 2400 light years distant ● The main sequence star Vega 25 light years from earth and the second brightest star in the northern hemisphere ● The star Altair 16.7 light years away is a young main sequence star 1.8 times the mass of our sun rotating rapidly on its axis taking only 8 hours to complete
