Alexander McQueen’s “48-Button Dress” was created for his Fall/Winter 1998 Joan collection. The floor length grey wool dress featured 48 buttons running down the back, creating an exaggerated and restrictive silhouette. The excessive buttoning referenced Victorian era womenswear and ecclesiastical dress, influences McQueen explored throughout the collection. Inspired by Joan of Arc, Joan incorporated elements of medieval dress, religious imagery and themes of martyrdom and persecution.

Beef Pot Roast 🥩🥕🥔 (via @_luubbaa) Fall-apart beef, tender carrots and potatoes, and a rich herb broth made for spooning over creamy mashed potatoes. This is my kind of cozy family dinner, with everything slowly roasting together until the beef pulls apart with a fork. 💾 SAVE this recipe for your next comfort food night & SHARE it with someone who loves a hearty homemade meal! Serves 6 🛒 Ingredients • 4 lbs beef chuck • Salt, black pepper and garlic seasoning, to taste • Olive oil • 1 onion, chopped • 2 celery stalks, chopped • 4 garlic cloves, minced • 4 tbsp tomato paste • 3 tbsp flour • 4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce • 1 quart beef broth • 4 carrots, peeled and chopped • 6 yellow potatoes • Fresh or dried rosemary • 3–4 bay leaves • Mashed potatoes, for serving 👩‍🍳 Directions Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Pat the beef dry and generously season all sides with salt, pepper and garlic seasoning. Heat olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sear the beef on all sides until deeply browned, then remove and set aside. Add the onion, celery and garlic to the same pot. Cook for about 2 minutes, until fragrant. Stir in the tomato paste, then add the flour and mix until the vegetables are evenly coated. Pour in the Worcestershire sauce and beef broth, stirring well to combine. Return the beef to the pot. Arrange the carrots and potatoes around it, then add the bay leaves and rosemary. Cover and roast for 3–4 hours, until the beef is fork-tender. Remove the bay leaves and serve the beef and vegetables over creamy mashed potatoes, with plenty of the sauce.
