#sobrevivientedesepsis There is so much we have had to go through to get to this point… After Mathias lost his limbs and after those 10 months in the hospital, came countless appointments with specialists, countless hours of therapy, and so many changes and adjustments to his prostheses, as Mathias is still growing and his residual limbs continue to change with him. But here we are! We have come this far thanks to Mathias’s incredible physical, emotional, and spiritual strength, and thanks to the love and support of our family and so many people who have helped us along the way! We still have a long way to go, but… wow, look how far we’ve come!!! A few days ago, I heard something during the homily that I have been carrying in my heart: Being okay does not mean ignoring reality. Being okay means allowing God’s grace to permeate the realities of life, making it possible for us to continue on the journey. And I think that is exactly what we have learned to do: not ignore our reality, but walk through it with faith, sustained by love. #sepsissurvivor
