Infosys co-founder N.R. Narayana Murthy once applied for a job at Wipro in the late 1970s, but his application was rejected by Azim Premji.Murthy, then a young systems programmer, sought a position at Wipro but was turned down.Following the rejection, Murthy went on to co-found Infosys in 1981 alongside six engineers using ₹10,000 provided by his wife, Sudha Murty.Years later, Azim Premji admitted to Murthy that not hiring him was one of the biggest mistakes of his career, remarking that if Wipro had hired Murthy, Infosys might never have existed to become a major competitor.
