After an 8–21 finish last season, Grissom enters 2026–27 looking to turn athleticism, physicality and a deep backcourt into a rebound year. Leading that effort is Jack Doss, one of the country’s winningest coaches, who is chasing Alabama’s all-time coaching wins record while working to get the Tigers back on track.
Prince Morgan returns following a strong summer, alongside sophomore Josh Thomas, an explosive athlete who now has a year of varsity experience under his belt. Junior guard Sydney Brown brings shooting that can shift a game’s momentum in a hurry, while newcomer JeKhari McCauley adds three-level scoring to an already crowded backcourt. Shermane Moore provides a steady hand at point guard, giving the Tigers a floor general to keep the offense organized.
An encouraging summer gave Grissom something to build on. Now, the challenge is translating that momentum into consistent production when the season tips off. With Doss on the sideline and a versatile group of guards leading the way, the Tigers have the pieces to take a step forward.
