Participants of the Global Green Grant, in collaboration with the GAGGA
@gagga_alliance, Kario’s Project, came together for a retreat in Karen, Kenya, to explore the power of human connection in embodying learning and strengthening our commitment to collective care.
The retreat provided a meaningful space to deepen our understanding of collective care strategies through lived experiences, shared reflections, and honest conversations. We explored how building trust, fostering genuine human connections, and setting healthy boundaries within our teams can contribute to stronger, healthier, and more sustainable movements.
Collective care is more than a concept; it is a practice. It reminds us that caring for ourselves and one another is essential to sustaining our work, strengthening our relationships, and creating lasting social and environmental change.
As changemakers and advocates, we must remember that the well-being of our movements depends on the well-being of the people who sustain them.
Let us continue to build spaces where care, connection, trust, and mutual support are at the heart of our collective action.
