The crew from 'Who's Coming to Tea'' artwork by Sue Mair
#acrylics
How did you find your illustrator?
I met Sue at my local markets. Her artwork caught my eye as I walked past. I stopped to look, we chatted and I left with a little thought in my mind..'I wonder! I wonder if she would consider bringing my story to life'
I contacted Sue a fee weeks later and we met for a chat.
When Sue paints she allows the design to just become. There isn't much sketching or planning that happens before the paint is applied. Just a simple black outline then the colours. I just needed to trust her process!
I was thrilled when Sue revealed the first few pages to me. I loved the character and personality seen in each animal! And the colours are vibrant and fun!
