Favourite cosplay of these two?

The first look at 16-year-old Griffin J. John II has surfaced following a d*adly Oregon elementary school sh**ting.

The New York Post shared the image on Friday. The September 10 Facebook photo shows John wearing a hoodie beside his mother, Shauntai May Nickerson, near a waterfall. Police publicly identified him following Thursday’s m@ssacre at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend.

Investigators say John, a former student, arrived October 15 carrying a Maverick 88 12-gauge sh*tg*n reportedly purchased by his mother. He tossed the g*n over a fence, climbed after it, fired at a pickup and sh*t through secured school doors before entering a special education classroom.

Three boys, ages 5, 8 and 11, and 25-year-old teacher Meghan Lambert were k*lled. A 7-year-old girl and 54-year-old teacher Becky Drury were wounded. Another teacher confronted John before armed parent Kaylub Giamanco fatally sh*t him.

John previously attended a program supporting students with behavioral challenges. In a 2020 interview, Nickerson said, “I think it will be great for Griffin, because I am not certified teaching a special needs student,” adding, “And I think it will be great for my son to get the help that he needs from the skilled teachers that he needs to get it from.”

Following the sh**ting, Nickerson described him as “a good boy, he really was.”

“I’m so sorry, I wish I could have done something. I’m sorry for their loss,” she said.

“I miss him,” she added. “If I could have prevented this, I would have.”

Prayers to the victims of this senseless tragedy🙏🏾

President Donald Trump is folding to bipartisan backlash and canceling Pete Hegseth’s plans to livestream the firing squad execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan. He is the former United States Army psychiatrist convicted of killing 13 people, injuring 32, during a shooting at Fort Hood, Texas in 2009. A week ago, the Department of Defense (War) Secretary, Hegseth, revealed the Pentagon’s plans to livestream Hasan’s death.

On October 2, Trump ordered the United States Army to execute Hasan, and to do so by firing squad. To note, this marks the Army’s first execution since 1961. As for the method, the military has not used it since 1945. Additionally, it’s reported that they don’t even have a modern procedure for administering a firing squad execution. Last Thursday (October 8), Hegseth confirmed the news and said Hasan’s execution would be livestreamed. Hasan — who has described the 2009 attack as an act of jihad — is scheduled to be executed on December 3. Hasan’s firing squad execution will take place at the same base where he committed the attack, Fort Hood. Hegseth also said that Hasan’s death will take place at 1 p.m., mirroring the approximate time he began shooting.
___________________________________________________
A week later, President Trump is now reversing Hegseth’s plans. On Thursday (October 15), Trump said he believes publicly broadcasting Hasan’s death could have served as a deterrent, but ultimately agrees with critics. Trump said the immediate families of Hasan’s victims will be permitted to witness the execution in person. The move arrives as the Trump administration faces backlash and criticism from not only Democrats, but Republicans as well. Even Fort Hood survivors warned that the broadcast could potential become propaganda for terrorist groups like al-Qaeda and ISIS. They are praising Trump’s decision to cancel the livestream and not make a “barbaric” spectacle of Hasan’s death.
