📸Xavi Farré/BBC/ GettyImages/ AFP via Getty Images/ Universal Images Group via Getty Images/ LightRocket via Getty Images/ NurPhoto via Getty Images
It’s called the mental load for a reason, because it’s truly a load. There is so much to think about and plan and organize when it comes to running a household and raising kids. No wonder moms are burning out when they are the ones carrying the majority of it. I choose to believe that there are many men in relationships with women who genuinely think that asking for a list is a normal and logical thing to do. But it’s not the answer. Frankly, it just adds more work to the plate of their partners. It’s just another thing to do. It’s another thing to remember. Let’s stop assuming that every part of managing the household is a woman’s responsibility to begin with, and start having open honest conversations early on about what mental parts of managing the household can be redivided. What things can you redivide at home? Do you struggle to talk about the mental load? Comment “Honest Motherhood” and I will send you the link to my memoir where I share my own journey with breaking from carrying too much in motherhood. #motherhood #momlife #mentalload #sharetheload #divisionoflabor emotionallabor householdchores marriage
Kids club 👊 Keep ’em moving! Some of my fondest childhood memories are training with my dad. I remember being so eager to learn, constantly asking, “Dad, show me this! Show me that!” Feels like yesterday. Now, all these years later, I find myself in his shoes, sharing those same moments with my own kids. Funny how life comes full circle. Time flies. What a blessing fatherhood is ❤️🙏📷 @evanpaterakis

⚠️ AMPARO 🚨SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA MORNING 11/2/26 🚨 NEEDS COMMITMENT BY 6AM 🚨 URGENT MOST AT RISK 🚨 SPACE ONLY🚨 On the euthanasia list because of space only. Amparo came in with Bennie, who was rescued. Lately she has been a little kennel stressed, but Amparo has been at the shelter for a month and a half so it’s understandable. Space is no reason to euthanize a dog. She has survived so long at the shelter. That’s just a testament of her character. Who can foster or adopt? 🐶 ID #A852089 Located: Devore Shelter Name: My name is Urgent Amparo. Description: I am a black and tan, unaltered female, who looks like a Shepherd.
