ACCI BEST CENTRE, in collaboration with the Trade Facilitation Office (TFO) Canada, successfully launched the Trade for Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth (TRISEG) Project on 8 October 2026 in Abuja.
The five-year initiative, funded by the Government of Canada through Global Affairs Canada, aims to strengthen Trade Support Institutions and improve the competitiveness and export readiness of Nigerian Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), particularly women-owned and women-led businesses and other under-represented groups.
Speaking at the launch, the President of ACCI, Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, PhD, highlighted the importance of strengthening institutional capacity and equipping Nigerian businesses to access local and international markets. The 1st Deputy President of ACCI and Chairman of ACCI BEST Centre, Prof. Adesoji Adesugba, also commended TFO Canada for its continued partnership and commitment to supporting SMEs and women entrepreneurs through capacity building, mentorship and sustainable business development.
The launch featured a Stakeholder Validation Workshop on the Nigeria Export Market Analysis and Institutional Capacity Assessment, bringing together stakeholders to identify practical strategies for addressing challenges affecting SME growth, financing, digitalisation and access to international markets.
Through the TRISEG Project, ACCI and TFO Canada aim to promote inclusive trade, strengthen institutional support and create sustainable opportunities for Nigerian businesses to compete in Canada and other international markets.
ACCI BEST Centre invites SMEs operating in the processed foods sector to apply and take advantage of opportunities to strengthen their business capacity, improve export readiness and explore international market opportunities.
