i still can’t quite believe this happened!!! i took ella’s envelope to the new york marathon to collect kind messages from strangers to deliver to runners they’d never met… AND ARIANA GRANDE WROTE ONE!!! it was so lovely of her to take the time to write a message for a complete stranger who just did one of the toughest challenges in the world! then getting to deliver it to the most amazing girl and see her reaction was just was incredible … ariana, thank you for being part of it and to everyone who wrote a message, you made someone’s day 🥹 congratulations to ellie for your incredible achievement completing the nyc marathon! this is what ella’s envelope is all about. bringing strangers together, spreading a little kindness and reminding people just how kind our world really is …
There were some fantastic stories at DP World Tour Q School Second Stage yesterday and the favourite for me was 28 year old Ahmad Baig from Lahore who is trying to become the first golfer from Pakistan to earn DP World Tour membership. Ahmad shot rounds of 67, 63, 65 and 66 to win at Desert Springs by 5 shots at 27 under par. I spoke to him about it last night: “I’m feeling really good. It was a great week. I was straight off the tees and I made a lot of putts and made a lot of birdies.” Ahmad went out tied for the lead into the final round after making an ace on the 14th hole on Saturday, but he wasn’t concerned about defending or playing conservative: “I was telling my friend Jack in the practice round, I said, ‘Jack, I love this course. It’s perfect for me and I will smash it,’ and Jack said, ‘let’s go!’ And we did.” This is the first time in Ahmad’s life that he’s ever played in Spain which emphasises what an incredible performance it was. He travelled straight from Second Stage overnight to Infinitum Golf for the Final Stage this week so he can prepare as well as possible for a run at earning his full DP World Tour card and making history. I wish him well and hope he has another great week. Give him a follow @ahmadbaigg @dpwtqschool @dpworldtour
