“He became a wonderful father, but somewhere along the way, I stopped feeling like his wife.”
For many women, this is one of the loneliest parts of becoming a mother.
The baby arrives, responsibilities multiply, and life becomes a constant cycle of feeding, working, managing the home, and caring for everyone.
Her husband may be doing his best as a father. But she may still miss the emotional connection they shared before becoming parents.
She misses being asked how HER day was.
She misses feeling wanted, not just needed.
She misses having conversations that aren’t about the children.
She misses the woman she was before every part of her life revolved around someone else.
And sometimes, she doesn’t even know how to explain what she’s feeling. She feels guilty for wanting more when everyone expects her to be grateful.
But motherhood doesn’t erase a woman’s emotional needs. And becoming parents doesn’t mean a couple should stop nurturing their relationship.
❤️ This is where healing begins.
Through intentional self-reflection, mindfulness, and supportive healing practices, a woman can begin reconnecting with her emotions, recognising her needs, and creating space for herself again.
Practices like chakra meditation can be used as a spiritual tool for reflection and relaxation. A gentle early-morning routine can also offer a few quiet moments to check in with yourself before the day begins.
You don’t have to fix everything overnight. Start by acknowledging what you feel, communicating your needs, and allowing yourself to receive support, too.
You can love your children deeply and still want to feel seen as a woman, a partner, and an individual.
💗 Your needs matter, too.
