My contribution to the 62nd edition of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year is this juvenile turtle, nominated for the Peopleā€™s Choice Award. It was my favourite image captured in 2025 which makes this selection extra rewarding (mostly because it offers a shred of evidence that Iā€™m not totally mad). Beyond the award, this picture shares one of the most rarely seen moments in the ocean and in the life of sea turtles. The odds are stacked against sea turtles from the moment they hatch; only one out of every thousand destined to make it to adulthood. For those individuals who complete the treacherous escape from the beach into the sea, there lies ahead an arduous and mysterious life in the open ocean. We know so little about this period in a turtleā€™s life that they are referred to as the ā€˜lost yearsā€™. It is hard enough to find a whale while exploring the pelagic ocean, so imagine my surprise when we came across a tiny turtle in the ā€˜blue desertā€™. It is the equivalent of finding the metaphorical needle in a haystack. A moment of exceptional rarity, and a privileged insight to the life of a species vulnerable to extinction. Big thanks to eagle-eyed friend and guide Ivan (@isotelo__) for spotting the turtle, part of another epic day on the water with @nomad_diving. Thank you to the friends and clients who were with me that day and shared in the wonder of the moment. Thank you the @nhm_wpy for continuing to make the ā€˜Oscarā€™sā€™ of the wildlife world possible. Heaps of appreciation for @jadehoksbergen as always, and my longterm partners @blancpain1735, @fourthelementdive, @xdeep_dive_gear, @nautilusuk.

He keeps telling us that this is the best birthday gift we have ever given him, and I couldnā€™t be more grateful. Alhamdulillah, a thousand times Alhamdulillah! šŸ¤ My only prayer is that Allah always keeps my children close to Him, strengthens their Imaan, and guides them to become kind, compassionate human beings and good Muslims. Bad Dolly is responding to ET after their altercation during the Baddies USA Chapter 3 house meeting, seemingly owning up to the claims that she scratched and bit ET while making it clear that she knows how to fight! Dolly also questioned why ET is so eager to expose everything that happens behind the scenes, suggesting she may be chasing a viral moment and questioning whether sheā€™s intentionally breaching her contract. She ultimately told ET to leave her alone. Chileee, with both ladies speaking out after the altercation, is this feud far from over? Do yā€™all think ET is doing too much by putting everything out there, or does Bad Dolly need to let her speak?
