Much excitement in Madrid today for the Fiesta Nacional de España. As fabulous as this was, we took the opportunity to visit other parts of the city that were unusually peaceful as everyone was at the parade. Had a fantastic view of the city from a big hill in Vallecas and saw plenty of interesting things at ground level too. Even found a James Joyce themed pub!
