Came across this tea today - with a decidedly un-tea-like name and not-very-tea-like packaging. Obviously took it home. It’s a bit of a belter, actually - not totally unlike Earl Grey but without any of the subtlety. Tastes a bit like the bottom of an old wooden box, but in a good way. This is a tea that doesn’t mess about. Could be a new favourite, I’ll make a few more pots and let you know. #tea by @brazierlucy
Today we have frequented the avant-garde barrios of Madrid - Chueca, el Barrio de las Letras, Lavapies and the bits and pieces in between 😁 Beautiful, vibrant and super friendly and - of course - the food was phenomenal ❤️ by @brazierlucy
Much excitement in Madrid today for the Fiesta Nacional de España. As fabulous as this was, we took the opportunity to visit other parts of the city that were unusually peaceful as everyone was at the parade. Had a fantastic view of the city from a big hill in Vallecas and saw plenty of interesting things at ground level too. Even found a James Joyce themed pub! by @brazierlucy
Have been nipping about all over the place today - have seen fancy things, been to a flea market and eaten lots of marvellous things. #madrid Off to Toledo tomorrow - very much hoping to see the cheese museum! by @brazierlucy
Hola from Madrid! We have ensconced ourselves in the vibrant Vallecas barrio and the first night was pretty spectacular. Halfway down our very first beer and an amiable chap tried to sell us some weed - when he realised we weren’t interested in that, he offered us some ‘beautiful wooden furniture’ instead! That would have been confusing even in English… Next, we stumbled across a couple of guys playing flamenco music so we stopped and enjoyed that for a bit. Then on the way home came across a cool rock bar! We were the only customers but the chaps there were really fun. Also the weather is fantastic 😁 by @brazierlucy
Fab evening of mystery, magic and interactive theatre at @uninorthants_uon with Victorian circus-themed experience The Rise & Fall Of Lazarus Kane. Not that it’s important, but I absolutely smashed it on the coconut shy and was very pleased with my prizes, as you can see. by @brazierlucy
Another trip around the sun, celebrated with fire, food and fabulousness! Older I get, the more I realise that I’ve no idea what the main mission is, but I’m really great at the side quests 😆 Here’s to always taking the back roads, the diversions and kicking open the closed doors. Thank you for all the cards, messages and wishes - I hope always to repay the love that comes to me from everywhere. Growing older is a blessing. Growing up? I’ll keep you posted on that one 😘 by @brazierlucy
Here we go - absolutely beautiful chicken & leek with cider and potato gratin. It’s one of those dishes that is pretty straightforward to make, but seems to take ages because there’s lots of chopping (leeks & shallots) and those loads of potatoes have to be really thin. But so worth the effort, it’s delicious and you might as well make a massive one so good for leftovers 😁 by @brazierlucy

Saturday night is alright for… eating! Simple but tasty (and pretty). Honey & mustard chicken, Korean chicken and some sweet fried rice. Nice! by @brazierlucy
