🇺🇸 I’M 52… AND MY NIGHTTIME ROUTINE MATTERS MORE THAN EVER. 🖤🌙

Black pajamas, a quiet evening, and a little time just for me. ✨

I’ve learned that taking care of myself isn’t only about what I do during the day…

It’s also about the habits I build before bedtime. 🤍

🌙 01 — WIND DOWN
Give yourself time to slow down.

📵 02 — LESS SCREEN TIME
Create a calmer bedtime routine.

💧 03 — STAY HYDRATED
Remember your daily hydration.

🥗 04 — EAT WITH INTENTION
Make balanced nutrition a priority.

🧬 05 — MY NMN ROUTINE
NMN is a supplement I personally include in my wellness routine. Its benefits in humans are still being researched.

🚶‍♀️ 06 — MOVE DURING THE DAY
Regular movement is part of my lifestyle.

😴 07 — PROTECT YOUR SLEEP
Make quality rest a priority.

🖤 At 52, I’m learning that self-care doesn’t have to be complicated.

Sometimes, it’s simply putting on your pajamas, slowing down, and giving yourself permission to rest.

A peaceful night. A fresh start tomorrow. One day at a time. ✨

You will find me at the beach ❤️

My Pregnancy Journey, Part 1:

I planned to run all 9 months of my pregnancy, carry my baby to full term, and then settle into the kind of postpartum bliss I had imagined for years.

I never imagined being admitted to the hospital at 28 weeks, waiting and hoping our baby boy would survive long enough to make it to a safe and mandatory delivery at 34 weeks.

I have always relied on my body.
I’ve pushed it through countless miles, workouts, races, and finish lines. I’ve asked it to do extraordinary things, and it has always answered.
But for most of this pregnancy, I resented it.
For the first time in my life, I couldn’t muscle my way through something. I couldn’t train harder. I couldn’t push through the pain. I couldn’t will my body into doing what I needed it to do.
Everything was out of my control.

At 28 weeks, the doctor said the words:
“Absent end-diastolic flow in the umbilical artery due to placental insufficiency.”

PLACENTAL INSUFFICIENCY.

💭 Insufficient.
💭 Inadequate.
💭 Incompetent.
💭 Inhospitable.

That was all I heard.
That was how I began to see my own body.
I felt betrayed by it.
How could the body I had trusted my entire life fail me at the most important moment of it?
How could it fail to give my baby the blood, oxygen, and nutrients he needed to grow and survive?

I felt like I had failed him.

I felt like a failure as a mom before my child was even born.
