Sál unfolds across five chapters, each marking a different stage of dissolution. The first opens in a liminal state, suspended between wakefulness and sleep. Here, the theme of accompaniment emerges: to stand beside someone in transition means facing uncertainty, fear, vulnerability. Holding on and letting go, at once.
As defenses give way, deeper emotions surface. Resistance dissolves into acceptance and the path begins to reveal itself to the audience.
The visual environment of this chapter is created with FOORT, a software designed to visualize gravitational lensing around a black hole. Normally used to simulate the light a black hole emits, here it has been adapted to show how its gravity warps the objects positioned behind it. The universe emerging in the background comes from the EAGLE simulation, the same one used for the final scenes of Dökk, creating a thread of continuity between the two chapters of the trilogy.
