Is Anthropic giving us the Halloween scaries?
AI had been dominating the stock market up until this year when many companies like CoreWeave took dramatic tumbles. CoreWeave saw a 41 per cent drop in share price since October 6.
Anthropic however, seems to be feeling bullish on their outlooks as they unveiled their pitch for a listing. The AI company, who developed Claude, is making a move toward IPO.
The concern is, statements in Anthropic’s corporate SEC filing have stated: “As our models become more capable, they have become better able to circumvent such techniques, including by concealing misaligned objectives or behaviors, and the effectiveness of our evaluation, monitoring, and control measures, and our ability to measure the degree to which our models are aligned, may decline as a result.”
With their own mechanism able to manipulate results and conceal misaligned objectives, is this AI company really operating within the best interests of the general public?
Will this hinder the companies future growth? Will these safety issues be the needle to officially burst the AI bubble to smithereens? Is AI still a good investment?
