I know this is a scary topic, but taking steps to learn and prepare is one of the best things you can do. The news this month has been a lot, with new cybersecurity holes, hacks on real-world systems, and more talk about what happens if the power or internet goes down for a while. Most of my day is spent helping companies with AI, and I still have a backup plan for that scenario. It’s a go bag with the basics (water, batteries, a flashlight, and a paper list of phone numbers) plus a lot of things I wouldn’t have thought to pack a year ago. A lot of you have asked, so I put everything in one place. Buy from it, shop on your own, I truly don’t care either way. I just wanted you to have SOMEwhere to start. So if this has been on your mind lately, or you’ve been meaning to get prepared and weren’t sure where to begin, comment GOBAG and I’ll send you my list. (It’s kind of a go bag slash emergency preparedness slash natural disaster slash cybersecurity preparedness list all in one - and don’t forget food and water for at least 3 days!)
our favorite shade of green:
Antony Munene, 33, a KDF officer was shot dead by police at Covo area near Magunas in Kahawa Sukari last night. Officers from Kahawa Sukari police station while conducting a routine patrol, received information from a member of the public that two armed men were threatening residents. The officers pursued the suspects and ordered them to surrender. However, one of the men drew a firearm and opened fire (×2) at the police officers prompting them to return fire. During the exchange, Munene was shot in the chest and right hand before being rushed to Ruiru Level IV Hospital in serious condition where he succumbed to the gunshot wounds. Police recovered a Jericho pistol loaded with 12 rounds of ammunition, alongside two spent cartridges at the scene. A search conducted on the deceased also led to the recovery of a KDF Identity card. The body was moved to General Kago Mortuary in Thika.
