A firefighter’s POV from the #GulchFire on Oct. 6 in southern Sonoma County.
Watch as firefighters from #CALFIRELNU’s Station 46 in Glen Ellen work alongside our partners from the Schell-Vista Fire District and Sonoma Valley Fire District to establish a hose lay along the flank of the fire, while CAL FIRE S2T Airtankers deliver fire retardant drops overhead.
Thanks to a rapid response, coordinated teamwork and an aggressive initial attack, this fire was held to just 1.25 acres.

We have the best, most highly skilled fire fighters in the world here in Sonoma County. I always say this, and I sincerely mean it. Every local firefighter I have met (one as a close neighbor as well) has been so open-minded and supportive of our very diverse community members as well! These qualities are truly heroic, and amazing! Thank you for protecting us all!
