There are some things in life we have to grieve that we never actually had. The marriage we thought we’d have by now. The children we hoped for. The career opportunity that didn’t come. The version of life we imagined we’d be living at this age. And sometimes that grief is hard to explain because nothing was necessarily taken from us. It’s simply that something we deeply wanted never happened. In this conversation with @anniefdowns , we talked about the importance of making room to grieve the life you thought you’d have. Because you can be grateful for the life God has given you and still feel sadness over the things you hoped would be part of it. Both can be true. And sometimes moving forward doesn’t begin with telling yourself to get over it. It begins with giving yourself permission to acknowledge what you’ve lost, even if that loss was a dream that never became reality. You don’t have to pretend it didn’t matter in order to trust God with what comes next. We talked more about navigating grief, unmet expectations, and trusting God when life looks different than we imagined on the podcast. I've been traveling the world a bit. One of the most incredible experiences was getting to visit Taiwan w/ Jensen Huang (@nvidia). It was wild 🤯.. huge crowds of engineers, insanely good street food at night markets, and of course a lot of good conversations across many days. I caught some of it on video, and posted on YouTube now. Alright, that's it from me, love you all ❤️
