Ada yang telah menanam,
ada yang sedang merawat,
ada yang kelak menikmati teduhnya.

Begitulah keluarga bertumbuh:
bukan karena semuanya sempurna,
melainkan karena kasih terus diupayakan.

Merawat hari ini,
menumbuhkan esok hari. 🌱

Musik menyatukan suara yang berbeda,
seperti keluarga menyatukan generasi yang berbeda. 🎶🌱

Homicide detectives used surveillance footage and police interviews to identify Eric Cooke, 38, as the suspect in a fatal assault that left 34-year-old Breon Turner dead, according to court documents.

The assault occurred around 9:40 p.m. on October 14 near the intersection of Ramsay and Payson streets. Surveillance footage showed Turner standing in the street among several people, including Cooke, who was wearing a white tank top. When the camera returned to the scene after briefly turning away, Turner was on the ground, and Cooke was allegedly stomping on his upper body and head.

The footage also showed a woman wearing a black dress removing Turner’s pants while he appeared to be unconscious. Paramedics arrived minutes later and transported him to a nearby hospital.

Investigators obtained additional footage from a nearby convenience store that captured activity before and after the assault. According to court records, Cooke could be heard saying, “I beat him by myself.” The video also showed an unidentified man carrying what appeared to be Turner’s bookbag before handing it to Cooke, who walked away with it.

Turner initially remained in a chronic vegetative state due to his injuries. He died on October 19, police said.

To confirm the suspect’s identity, detectives showed still images from the surveillance footage to nine police officers in separate interviews. All nine identified Cooke based on prior encounters with him or their involvement in previous investigations, according to the charging documents.
