Today, my sister would have been 40. ❤️

I saw her in my dream last night. We were hugging her and asking, “Where have you been?” She simply said she had travelled, that she needed time by herself, but she was back now.

For a little while, it felt surreal.

My sister and I were born less than a year apart, so we shared so much of life together.

She loved birthdays, dressing up and taking pictures. It was one of the ways she showed up for life.

So for her 40th, I wanted to give her a photoshoot.

AI gave me a small gift: the chance to imagine what her 40th birthday portrait might have looked like. Not to rewrite her story, but to celebrate the life she lived.

She was dependable, thoughtful and someone you could count on. There are many things I understand differently now, and many ways I wish we had known how to support her better.

But today, I choose to remember her for who she was.
