POSTS STORIES REELS

Today, my sister would have been 40. ❤️

I saw her in my dream last night. We were hugging her and asking, “Where have you been?” She simply said she had travelled, that she needed time by herself, but she was back now.

For a little while, it felt surreal.

My sister and I were born less than a year apart, so we shared so much of life together.

She loved birthdays, dressing up and taking pictures. It was one of the ways she showed up for life.

So for her 40th, I wanted to give her a photoshoot.

AI gave me a small gift: the chance to imagine what her 40th birthday portrait might have looked like. Not to rewrite her story, but to celebrate the life she lived.

She was dependable, thoughtful and someone you could count on. There are many things I understand differently now, and many ways I wish we had known how to support her better.

But today, I choose to remember her for who she was.

The sister who dressed up.
The sister who showed up.
The sister who mattered.

Happy heavenly 40th birthday, my sister.

You were here. You were loved. You are remembered. ❤️ by @veetreats

This time last year we received the shocking news of your death mum.

Everything changed, you overcame so many battles with your health we expected to see beat DVT this time.

I believe you stopped fighting, you were tired and you decided go this time!

I celebrate you for being our strength and support. Nurturing your children to become adults all by your self for 29 years.

This one year has been a pot -pourri; adjusting to a llife without you, Your drama!! your calls, your laughter, your rants, your updates, your prayers, your support, your gists etc. Your grandchildren miss your birthday celebrations!!!

Loosing Afoke 8 months after you left is a big blow to our stomachs we are still trying to straighten up from.

Keep resting mummy!!! by @veetreats
