Steam Cloud for retro games?! 🎮 This is my favorite homelab project yet!

I recently discovered RomM, a free self-hosted app that lets you organize your entire retro game collection, download games directly to your devices, and even sync your game saves between supported emulators and handhelds!

I've got it running on my NAS, and being able to start a game on my Retroid Pocket 5 and continue playing on my AYN Thor without manually moving save files is honestly so cool.

This is exactly the kind of stuff that gets me excited about homelabbing! There's so much you can do with a home server, and I'm just getting started exploring it all.

Let me know if you want a full tutorial on this! Be sure to follow/subscribe 👍🏾

Chris Welsh far right ,died yesterday. Drummer with the Died Pretty. Mid 80’s they were as great as any band playing Melbourne . Chris pounded the tubs. Brett had this phenomenal guitar sound. Frank was behind those shades playing organ. And Ron was the most captivating front man. I was backpacking in 1988 and in london. So depressed and broken hearted. Wouldn’t be the last time. And I saw chris Welsh walk into the toilets at Victoria station. I followed him in. Offered my hand and said I was such a fan of his band. He looked terrified. After he zipped up he spoke to me. Give me your address I’ll send you a postcard. And he did. To my parents address. It was such a big deal for me. And made my day. Which was pretty horrible at that time. I’d see him later. With the band. Always said hello to me. Put me on the list. Very sweet man. Ron has gone now. That’s life I guess. I will listen to them today and remember those transcendent nights at some little pub in Melbourne. That small crowd would leave walking a foot taller than when they went in. Love to your family and friends. Last century you made this little guy’s day. Warren @thediedpretty

#ad I made weekdays screen free, not as a punishment, just so we’d actually have intentional time together. I noticed our afternoons were becoming homework then straight to screens then the day was gone. Swapping that for game nights has been one of our best decisions, and Operation has become such a favorite in our house 🔧😂 @hasbro

World Mental Health Day

I wasn’t planning on posting anything today, but this morning I woke up feeling like I wanted to share something a little more personal 🤲🏻

I rarely show my bad days on here. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have them. I do. Just like everyone else.

I’ve been dealing with hate for years. Since I was 16, I’ve had people judging me, criticizing me and having opinions about who I am, often without even knowing me.
And yes, I’ve learned how to deal with it. But sometimes it still gets to me. Sometimes I break down too. Not because I’m weak, but because I’m actually a very sensitive person. Something you probably wouldn’t guess from my Instagram.

But there’s something I’ve been thinking about lately.

I grew up in a home full of love. So much love that I learned to believe in myself, know my worth and trust what I’m capable of.
And I truly believe that love has protected me in ways I didn’t even realize at the time.
It gave me the confidence to understand that someone else’s opinion doesn’t define who I am.

But I also know that not everyone is lucky enough to grow up with that kind of love and support.

And that’s really why I’m writing this.
To all the parents out there, and honestly, to everyone.

Tell your kids they’re beautiful. Tell them they’re smart, capable and worthy of love. Tell them how proud you are of them. And don’t just say it once. Say it until they believe it themselves.

Give them a sense of self-worth that doesn’t disappear the moment someone says something cruel.

Because the world won’t always be kind to them. And while we can’t protect them from every hurtful word, we can give them something to hold on to when those words come.

And one last thing.

Behind every smile, every picture and every achievement, there’s a person with feelings too 🫶🏼
