A vehicle and a pickup truck, both with "CAUTION" signs on the back, drive down a suburban street. The truck is spreading brine onto the road. There are trees and houses lining the street, with the surroundings indicating a residential area. The sky is clear and sunny.
A group of Cary Public Works staff wearing safety gear and high-visibility clothing are gathered outdoors near a construction area with felled trees. A large white tent structure is in the background. One person is operating a chainsaw, while others observe.
A yellow Cary municipal truck is parked on the street, equipped with a red snowplow at the front. Trees and a building are visible in the background.

Ready before the flakes fall! ❄️

Cary Public Works crews are preparing for winter weather during the annual Snow Rodeo on Oct. 16. From practicing with plows and brining equipment to training with loose leaf collection trucks, crews are getting ready for the season ahead.

See loose leaf trucks practicing in your neighborhood? These practice runs do not count as the first round of collection. Crews will return when the regular season begins Nov. 2. 🍂

Cary maintains 3,000 tons of salt and prepares to treat approximately 980 miles of roads.
