19 days agoI agree w u fam, if they tryna get heard then they should at least bring 3-5 people to support. If they do koo have those 3-5 pay the cover charge and the artists perform for free. Or the more people they bring the longer the set they get. I feel where ur coming from fam and I’ve always respected ur hustle and ur grind so whoever do t like what u doing for us underground rappers can either get w the program or go elsewhere. RESPECTFULLY
20 days agoBOTH! Artist need to bring people out to there events that’s how they grow their fanbase. If you’re not a known artist you should bring people out to the shows rather they free or not. Promoter can bring people out however if you’re a promoter more like an event planner it’s not your job to bring out people and pack the house if the people don’t know who the artist is 💯
20 days agoI agree, I feel artist don’t WORK on getting people in the door. That takes time and strategy. Eventually it’ll be a small group, but if you keep that content flowing and target YOUR audience not just anyone, You can bring more.
21 days agoChi town maine you don't have to explain the game to unsigned or even sign hype. Like you said 20 people ain't a lot continue to shine fam 1
21 days agoAs someone who has organized and promoted over 100 underground hip-hop shows, I firmly believe that artists should be willing to pay a reasonable fee to gain access to an established platform and audience. Here’s why. I built my fan base. I built my platform. I invested my own time, money, energy, and resources into creating opportunities and attracting an audience. None of that was handed to me. So why should someone else automatically expect free access to something I’ve worked hard to establish? It’s not about taking advantage of undiscovered artists. It’s about understanding the value of marketing and exposure. Think about it. When a vendor wants to sell merchandise at an event, they pay a vendor fee because they’re gaining access to an established audience of potential customers. Nobody questions that business model.
