Does being in a relationship mean you’re obligated to have sex, even when you don’t want to? 👀

Joy shares a conversation she recently had in therapy about consent, intimacy, and the pressure we sometimes put on ourselves to meet our partner’s needs, even when we’re not in the mood.

Tales of Oakleigh Cottage × Alban Rae Home

For the first time, Alban Rae Home is collaborating with @tales.of.oakleigh.cottage on a collection of one-off antique finds.

Collected by Fiona in collaboration with Victoria, and styled by Victoria at Oakleigh Cottage. The edit brings together Fiona’s love of collecting timeless pieces with character, and Victoria’s love for making a home feel cosy, personal and lived in.

Each piece has been chosen for the individual story it brings, and for the way it can sit naturally alongside the things you already love.

Launching Wednesday 28th October at 8pm.

We can’t wait to share it with you.

Never Let Me Go (2010), directed by Mark Romanek and based on the novel by Kazuo Ishiguro, is a heartbreaking story about love, friendship, and the things that make us human.

The film follows Kathy, Tommy, and Ruth, three students who grow up together at the secluded Hailsham boarding school. As they get older, their friendships become more complicated, feelings change, and the future they once imagined for themselves begins to look very different.

Beneath its quiet, beautiful atmosphere lies a story about mortality, lost time, and the painful reality of knowing that some things are beyond your control. The film explores these ideas through the characters’ relationships, allowing the sadness to build slowly rather than relying on dramatic twists.

Carey Mulligan, Andrew Garfield, and Keira Knightley deliver deeply moving performances, capturing the love, jealousy, regret, and longing that shape their characters’ lives. Some of the most heartbreaking moments come from the smallest gestures and the things left unsaid.

Never Let Me Go is the kind of film that makes you think about how precious an ordinary life really is, and how much meaning we find in the time we have with the people we love.

A silver ribbon. A bronze smile. A whole street chasing a family that never existed.
In 1995, psychologists noticed Olympic bronze medalists looked happier than silver ones. In 1913, a cartoonist drew a family ruining itself to keep up with the Joneses… after doing exactly that himself.

Comparison is the thief of joy. And you never feel it stealing.
