Anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota was shot dead in broad daylight in Punjab’s Mansa on Tuesday, October 13, during a confrontation at a medical store over the alleged sale of drugs. The incident was captured on a Facebook LIVE broadcast, with footage reportedly showing the argument escalating into gunfire. Four of Jhota’s companions were also reported injured in the incident. Jhota was known for his campaign against drug abuse and the alleged sale of narcotic substances and prohibited medicines in the region. He had reportedly confronted people suspected of selling drugs and mobilised local support against the menace. His anti-drug activities had also led to disputes in the past. According to initial reports, Jhota arrived at the medical store with associates and questioned the shop owner over alleged drug sales. The confrontation escalated, and the shop owner was accused of opening fire. Jhota was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared dead. The circumstances surrounding the shooting and the allegations against the shop owner remain subject to investigation. The killing has renewed concerns about the safety of people who confront suspected drug-related activities in Punjab. The state has faced persistent concerns over substance abuse, particularly the impact of drugs on young people and families. The incident also raises questions about how allegations of illegal drug sales are investigated and how those reporting suspected wrongdoing can be protected. However, the full motive behind the shooting and the sequence of events must be established through the police investigation. The viral footage has brought the incident into public focus, while the killing has sparked concern in Mansa. Further details about the investigation and action against those responsible are awaited.

🪾⚔️𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐊 • 𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐖⚔️🪾 Anathema (The Eating Woods #1) — Keri Lake { spoiler free } this book was an experience, & I’m so glad I can go straight into Eldritch now because that ending was a total shock to my senses lol. I’m not usually a super gothic reader, but this book was literally everything I thought it would be & so much more. I hated having to put it down! I absolutely LOVE Zevander & Maevyth! they’re absolutely perfect together & I cannot wait for more of their tension & chemistry! this is a super slow burn, but I swear it’s worth it because the yearning… the tension… that chemistry they have is EVERYTHING. my heart breaks for both of them & what they’ve had to endure in the past, & I fear we’ve only just scratched the surface of Zevander’s trauma especially. this was a super unique & intriguing plot, too! I literally cannot wait to see where this goes, what other shocking revelations are in store for us! diving straight into Eldritch now!😍 🪾 gothic fantasy romance 🪾 forced proximity 🪾 hidden identity 🪾 found family 🪾 religious & political oppression 🪾 past traumas 🪾 complex magic 🪾 touch her & die 🪾 morally grey 🪾 duet pov 5⭐️ 2🌶️ ** i’m already 150 pages into Vasmora as I post this, lol.
